Weekend Movie Review

While spending 4 glorious days at our mountain get-away...we had some time to catch up on some movie watching. (We never make it to the movie theater. Therefore, we are always buying or renting the new releases.) We watched 4 movies - and they were all good. Here is a little re-cap...
  • W. - with Josh Brolin. Good movie. Made you think and wonder how accurately it portrayed our former president's life. The political portions were recorded correctly - no question there. However, his relationships with his family members were interesting. After watching this movie - I do not think any less of President W. Bush. I almost feel sorry for him....
  • The Secret Life of Bees - with a strong female cast. Great movie. Randi watched this with me and we both liked it. Sweet, sad (I shed some tears), and funny. This movie warmed my soul, but also made me sad that the world was ever that segregated. I wish I had read the book first. This movie was great and the book is always better.
  • Milk - with Sean Penn. Incredible movie. I loved it. Mr. Penn was awesome and was well deserving of the big award. As you know, this is a subject I am very passionate about...therefore, I was captivated throughout the movie. Harvey Milk was an amazing man. I would love to bring him back and have a cup of coffee with him. Ask him what he thinks of the world today. Here we are, thirty plus years later, still arguing over similar issues...the ones he fought so hard for. Will people in this world ever stop being afraid?
  • Religulous - with Bill Maher. This one is a little (OK - a lot) controversial. However, I loved it. It is still lingering in my brain...making me think...a great deal...about everything. Plus, Mr. Maher is in my top five list of sexy men. (I know, he really is not that good looking...but, his brain is so sexy to me. He's fascinating.) He interviews people (from around the world) on religious issues. Whether you agree with him or not. Love him or hate him. He is intelligent, funny, and knows his facts. In my humble opinion....

There you have it.

Four great movies...in four glorious days.

Also...we had magical snow flurries all weekend. They coated the ground twice. Making the world beautiful...and Randi and I went horse back riding...in the flurries...

Sounds like you had a good weekend! I was on a weekend getaway trip...but one without technology. I did end up playing hours of games with friends!
